About

At Acacia, engineering isn't a support department—it is a strategic advantage. We believe the best ideas emerge when talented people challenge assumptions, solve difficult problems together, and continually raise the standard of what's possible. Our team is building a culture that competes to win. We pursue innovation relentlessly, embrace disciplined execution, and take pride in creating systems that make every project better than the last. We value people who are naturally curious, who see complexity as an opportunity, and who enjoy finding smarter ways to work. We practice
relentless candor —respectful, direct conversations rooted in trust and a shared commitment to improvement. We challenge ideas, not people. We openly identify problems, learn from mistakes, and hold one another accountable because we care deeply about our teammates, our customers, and the mission we're pursuing together. If you're looking for a place where exceptional work is expected, continuous learning is encouraged, and your ideas can meaningfully shape how a world-class engineering team operates, you'll feel at home here. ABOUT THE ROLE
Acacia builds bespoke, high‑end architectural millwork and commercial interiors for some of the most demanding clients and architects in the country. Our work shows up in corporate headquarters, law firms, and premium hospitality spaces. We're hiring a Millwork Design Engineer to own the full path from design intent to production‑ready release. That means manufacturable geometry, shop drawings, parts lists, and CNC‑ready data — accurate, complete, and on time. This role is hands‑on and high‑ownership. You'll work directly with engineering, project management, and production leadership. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop and release custom millwork designs using SolidWorks and the SWOOD plugin. Build and maintain parametric models, templates, and component libraries. Generate shop drawings, parts lists, cut sheets, and CNC‑ready data for production. Partner with project management and production to validate constructability before work hits the floor. Resolve engineering conflicts at the design stage — not after the fact. Contribute to engineering documentation standards, drawing conventions, and version control. Ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable AWI/ANSI requirements. WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years in a CAD/CAM engineering role within millwork, store fixtures, or commercial interiors. Proficiency in SolidWorks with assemblies, configurations, parametric modeling. Strong working knowledge of millwork construction methods, materials, and manufacturing processes, including CNC / CAM integration. Ability to manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy under deadline pressure. Experience producing shop drawings and production‑ready documentation. Expertise in reading architectural drawings and specifications. Strong communicator who works well across departments. (SWOOD experience a strong plus; we are actively transitioning) PERFORMANCE LOOKS LIKE
Material take‑offs and engineering releases are accurate, complete, and production‑ready on first submission. Design‑to‑release cycle times meet project schedules. BOM and releases completed within or below budgeted engineering hours. Zero drawing errors is the standard — we build the systems and reviews to back it up. SolidWorks/SWOOD template and library assets are maintained, versioned, and documented. CULTURE INDEX
We use Culture Index as an initial tool to help evaluate fit for both the position and the team.
