A Sonic General Manager is the captain of their own ship! You will lead a team toward goals that can be very professionally and financially rewarding for you! As a SONIC Drive-In General Manager, you will lead your team in an ongoing effort to give our guests a great service experience! You will be in charge of training and supporting drive-in employees, ensuring that food and service is delivered in a clean, safe, and efficient manner to the most loyal fans in the industry!
Essential General Manager job duties are listed below:
- Manages, trains, monitors and coaches crew/team members, carhops and skating carhops
- Directs and assigns drive-in employees as needed to ensure operational standards are met
- Adheres to and monitors employee compliance of the drive-in employee handbook, policies and practices
- Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties
- Prepares employee work schedules; monitors and makes appropriate adjustments to restaurant staffing levels
- Monitors and maintains inventory levels. Places orders for food, paper and other supplies as needed
- Completes and maintains all drive-in employment related records and payroll records
- Reinforces a "customer first" culture and ensures all employees are focused on "fast, fresh, and friendly"
- Resolves guest requests. Reports guest complaints to immediate supervisor and resolves guest complaints
- Interview and hire restaurant crew and management team members to achieve proper staffing levels
- Develops action plans to resolve unfavorable operational or financial trends
Additional General Manager requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Studies in business, management or related fields are helpful
- Minimum of two (6) months of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred)
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations
- Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work days, nights and weekends (some holidays as well)
- Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC
