How You Will Make an Impact: The
Sr. IT Project Manager
ensures that Technology project objectives are delivered on time and within budget as set forth by the Manager, Technology Operations. This role leads end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex, cross‑functional initiatives supporting Atlas Energy operations, including infrastructure, systems, applications, cybersecurity, and technology enablement projects. In addition to delivery ownership, this position brings the skills to strengthen project governance and introduce portfolio management disciplines (visibility, standards, and repeatable processes) as the Technology organization scales. This role will be based in Austin, TX, with travel as necessary up to 50% depending on the phases and needs of projects.
Responsibilities:
Owns end-to-end delivery for assigned Technology projects, accountable for scope, schedule, budget, and delivery commitments across cross‑functional teams and vendors
Leads stakeholder alignment across infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, applications, and business teams; drives tradeoffs and ensures operational readiness
Leads vendor/partner performance (MSPs, integrators, subcontractors), governing SOWs and escalations to meet scope, schedule, budget, and service expectations
Builds and maintains integrated schedules, coordinating milestones, cross‑project dependencies, and cutovers to ensure on‑time delivery
Owns risk, issue, action, and decision tracking and executive status reporting, driving issue resolution, risk mitigation, and timely decisions
Owns project budgets and forecasts (hardware, software, licensing, services, labor) and supports procurement/POs for management review
Maintains project documentation (requirements, designs, implementation plans, change records, security/compliance notes) and drives smooth transition to operations
Implements and drives adoption of enterprise PM tools (e.g., Asana) to standardize execution, workflow, and reporting
Maintains delivery artifacts and reporting standards (roadmaps, charters, schedules, risk/issue logs, and dashboards) to support portfolio visibility
Introduces and reinforces delivery governance (intake, prioritization support, stage gates, and change control) to improve consistency and transparency
Qualifications:
8+ years leading complex Technology/IT programs and projects (infrastructure, systems, applications, or cybersecurity), with demonstrated ownership of cross‑functional delivery
Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce concise, executive‑ready reporting and facilitate leadership readouts
Demonstrated experience managing vendors and SOWs, including negotiations, performance management, and escalation
Proven ability to partner across technical and non‑technical stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication and the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
PMP required
Ability to travel as needed during project execution (often to West Texas; occasional nationwide travel)
How You Will Stand Out:
Industry experience in oilfield, energy, manufacturing, or construction — you understand the pace, safety culture, and operational realities of field‑driven environments
Hands‑on experience implementing and scaling enterprise PM tools (e.g., Asana, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet), including building workflows, setting standards, driving reporting, and leading user adoption
A track record of establishing delivery governance and portfolio disciplines — from intake and prioritization to stage gates, change control, and executive cadence — that measurably improved predictability and visibility
Working knowledge of infrastructure, networking, applications, and security deep enough to challenge plans, guide delivery decisions, and manage vendor dependencies with confidence
Additional project management certifications beyond PMP, such as PMI‑ACP or PRINCE2, signaling breadth across agile and traditional delivery frameworks
