Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer‑related occupation. Alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer‑related occupation. Position requires 1 year of experience in: datacenters and telecommunication network design and optimization, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for exchanging routing information between autonomous systems, Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP) including IS‑IS or OSPF, MPLS or VXLAN‑based Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN), network troubleshooting using established procedures and tools. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification required. Responsibilities
Conduct quantifiable analysis of network data and capacity forecast models to enhance scalability, efficiency, and user experience. Evaluate network system inefficiencies and flaws to design and implement improved software, designs, and processes. Develop software to improve the performance, security, transparency, and manageability of network systems. Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex software, hardware, and other network system problems with minimal guidance. Scale systems sustainably by creating tools and automation that improve system reliability and operational velocity. Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to support multiple‑layer Distributed Cloud networks with stringent data residency, security, compliance, and privacy requirements. About the Job

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $132,300 – $181,000 + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google Seattle, WA office and may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.
