About

Redmont Talent Partners is sourcing candidates for an Inside Sales representative for a metal cutting and fabrication company in Birmingham, AL. The Inside Sales Representative is the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, managing the full order lifecycle from RFQ through production and shipment. This role coordinates closely with Estimating, Production, and Materials to ensure quotes are accurate, orders are entered correctly, and customers receive timely, proactive communication. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as primary point of contact with customer Purchasing, Procurement, and Account Managers. Oversee assigned customer accounts and strategize how to manage each account to increase profitability. Communicate part status and lead time updates proactively to customers. Daily review of open orders for assigned customers; troubleshoot hold‑ups with Production. Communicate with Estimator and customer to determine the processes needed per part. Pass initial RFQ to Estimator for pricing along with all files required to quote. Verify all required information is available before quoting: drawings, shipping method/cost/address, material, lead time, quality/MTR requirements, and special shipping requirements. Collaborate with Estimator on process scope and communicate pricing/lead time to customer. Manage and save all job‑related files on the server: DXF, PDF, weld PDF, Inventor files, and customer POs, with correct revision levels. Create and save extra shipping documents for FAI orders or orders requiring special documentation; attach to Sales Order to print with packslip. ORDER ENTRY & JOB MANAGEMENT
Upon receipt of hardcopy PO, import the won quote into JobBoss and prepare jobs for Production. If outside services are used, notify the service provider that the quote is ordered and in process. Check stock status of materials being loaded onto a job; coordinate with Customer/Materials on substitute raw stock if unavailable. Verify routing steps on the job match the quote when entering jobs. Send Sales Order Acknowledgement to customer once the SO is entered. Process Redo Order Management: create new SO number (SO:###A) and connect a new job to the SO for additional material requirements. Manage the Engineering Samples workflow: Estimator → Inside Sales (upon PO) → Engineering. Add dimensions to simple sample parts using company standard layers and dimensioning practices. Manage DXF files: organization, layer standards, and basic editing/exploding as needed. SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY – REQUIRED
Business Systems JobBoss (ERP) – Sales Order creation, job entry, job‑to‑SO linking, material ID, Redo Order Management, outsource lead time updates, template building. Paperless Parts / SecturaFab – importing quotes, converting won quotes, creating corresponding jobs in JobBoss; customer portals – order entry and PO submission where required by customer. CAD AutoCAD – DXF file management, DSW standard layers, basic dimensioning and file editing for sample parts. CAD (training available) – ability to work across ERP, quoting, and CAD software in a manufacturing environment. QUALIFICATIONS
Strong customer communication skills — written and verbal, with purchasing/procurement contacts. Detail‑oriented; able to verify quote, drawing, and job information for accuracy before order entry. Comfortable working across ERP, quoting, and CAD software in a manufacturing environment (CAD can be trained). Ability to manage multiple accounts and orders simultaneously, prioritizing by lead time and urgency. Familiarity with sheet metal / tube fabrication terminology preferred. Self‑starter who can coordinate effectively across Sales, Estimating, Production, and Materials. BENEFITS
