Position Overview
The Health Economics Team (HET) seeks a Senior Analytics Consultant to leverage technical skills (SQL, R, Python, Tableau/PowerBI) and healthcare industry knowledge to support and enhance client‑facing engagements with HCSC’s largest commercial customers. Responsibilities
Provide analytic support and consultancy for HCSC’s largest commercial clients and advise internal senior‑leader stakeholders on population health and insurance. Lead both external client engagements and internal team projects, fully understanding business problems and driving efficient resolution. Communicate and present to C‑Suite stakeholders, improving their understanding of plan cost and health drivers. Collaborate internally to address issues and scale the impact of client engagements. Design and maintain standard data layers and develop coding standards and documentation for organizational use cases. Troubleshoot challenges that arise during analytic development and deliver high‑quality output to senior leadership within tight timelines. Champion initiatives and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to bring projects to life. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics, or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 2 years of experience, or 10 years of relevant experience. Expert understanding and advanced proficiency in querying diverse healthcare and population data (medical/pharmacy claims, behavioral health claims, HCM records, EMR, provider databases, member demographics, publicly available datasets). Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SQL, Python, and R. Ability to create dynamic, visually engaging dashboards with Tableau or Power BI. High degree of business intelligence and ability to take a business case from conception to execution. Experience leading analytic initiatives to successful completion. Performance excellence in presenting to and influencing C‑Suite executives. Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and champion initiatives. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with 5 years of experience and at least 3 years of analyzing medical claims data. Experience employing case‑control studies, regression analyses, principal component analyses, clustering exercises, propensity scoring, classification, ROI calculation, and other advanced analytics techniques to produce actionable insights. Experience with Databricks. Experience with project management methodologies. Experience with version control and collaborative tools. Location & Travel
Hybrid role; location can be CHICAGO, IL or RICHARDSON, TX. Relocation will not be offered and sponsorship is not available, including for current OPT status. Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range: $84,400.00 – $152,300.00. Compensation varies by skills, experience, and location. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to plan terms and conditions.
