The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an innovative and experienced leader to join our Information Systems Division (ISD) as an Information Technology Manager I overseeing the Financial Systems Support (FSS) Group.
In this key leadership role, you will direct application support and development activities for DMV’s Oracle and Settlement-related systems, while supporting critical projects that interface with the department’s core business applications. You will play a vital role in shaping technology strategy, managing resources, and driving successful project delivery across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead application support, maintenance, and development for Oracle and Settlement applications
Oversee workforce and succession planning, IT budgeting, procurement, and strategic planning activities
Direct multidisciplinary teams responsible for requirements gathering, system design, technical specifications, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing system enhancements
Serve as Technical Manager and Contract Manager for multiple IT initiatives and projects
Ensure delivery of high-quality solutions that support DMV business operations and customer service goals
Desired Qualifications
Strong managerial and supervisory experience
Experience with mainframe and legacy applications
Proven ability to effectively plan, organize, direct, and delegate work
Experience supervising complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
Experience developing processes, procedures, and training programs
Knowledge of project management practices and SDLC/Agile methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
Sound analytical and decision-making abilities
A positive attitude, initiative, and high level of motivation
