Key Responsibilities
Build and deepen long term, cross region relationships
with architects, engineers, contractors, OEMs, and channel partners—strengthening Cummins’ position with the people who shape specifications and buying decisions.
Serve as the trusted technical and strategic expert
for Key Influencer Customers by providing accurate code/standards guidance, interpreting complex data, and helping stakeholders understand how Cummins solutions meet their needs.
Shape market demand and influence specifications
by proactively identifying needs, leveraging customer/competitor insights, and guiding influencers toward Cummins products early in the project lifecycle.
Create, maintain, and execute Key Influencer Customer strategies
that include account plan frameworks, opportunity tracking, and targeted engagement to increase visibility, trust, and impact across regions.
Strengthen organizational performance
by mentoring and developing technical and sales team members, elevating capability across technical assistance, sales process execution, and customer influence.
Drive opportunity identification and reporting discipline
by leveraging CRM tools, ensuring accurate tracking, and partnering with local sales roles to hand off and convert high quality opportunities.
Act as the voice of the customer and industry thought leader
by sharing local trends with internal teams, contributing to trade media or speaking engagements, and influencing Cummins’ strategic approach.
Collaborate cross functionally to achieve business targets
—aligning with Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support annual sales plans, margin goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain deep relationships, translate customer problems into solutions, and embed the customer’s perspective into sales content, offers, and engagement.
Plan, prioritize, and execute with discipline:
Align work to organizational goals, set clear milestones, and use account plans to track progress and refine tactics.
Craft and deliver compelling value propositions:
Diagnose needs through probing questions and research, then position products and services with clear differentiation tied to customer outcomes.
Navigate the channel to accelerate outcomes:
Understand industry structure, routes to market, and partner dynamics; align strategies with channel realities to expand reach and influence.
Manage the commercial engine with rigor:
Build consensus on pricing to meet margin and growth goals; forecast demand from data; proactively manage pipeline health and coach course corrections.
Run accounts like a strategist:
Assess account health, define a realistic future state, and execute a path to win that balances customer needs with business capabilities.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
University or college degree in the field of engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Significant level of relevant work experience required.
Experience in technical sales, application engineering or project management required.
Additional Skills/Experience
Strong understanding of emergency power systems and controls
Familiarity with load analysis, short‑circuit calculations, and transient performance considerations
Ability to interpret and develop electrical single‑line diagrams and system layouts
Familiarity with networking protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, or similar industrial communications
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 110, and local code requirements
Strong commercial acumen and risk awareness
Effective technical presentation and customer‑facing communication skills
Strong mix of electrical and mechanical engineering expertise is preferred
