Job Purpose As a Network Security Analyst, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the cybersecurity of NGET’s Operational Technology (OT) environment. Working closely with engineering, risk and security teams, you’ll support cybersecurity assessments and audits across the OT estate, contribute to risk and vulnerability assessments, and help design and implement controls that protect our operational systems from cyber threats.
You’ll develop and maintain security specifications, procedures and incident response documentation, while supporting the creation of business cases for mitigation plans. You’ll also contribute to security training and awareness activities, ensuring colleagues understand evolving risks.
In this role, you’ll help deploy and manage network security technologies, enforce access controls, and monitor network activity to identify and respond to potential threats. Staying up to date with emerging OT cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities and technologies will be central to your success.
This role is based in Warwick two days a week, with hybrid working available.

Hands‑on use of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), security monitoring and vulnerability management.
Ability to analyse network traffic and respond to security incidents.
Understanding of electrical power systems.
Strong grasp of network security principles and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation).
Good knowledge of networking and protocols.
Ability to turn data into clear insights.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical, critical thinker.
Degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
Strong problem‑solving skills in complex security environments.
Relevant certifications, such as: ISA/IEC 62443, GCIA, GNFA, GICSP, or Certified in Cybersecurity (CC).
What You'll Get
A competitive salary of £47,400 – £60,000 per annum
Annual Performance Based Bonus
37 hour working week. Flexible
26 days annual leave, plus eight statutory days
The option to buy additional or sell holiday days
Generous contributory pension scheme – we will double‑match your contribution up to a maximum of 12% company contribution
Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave – so long as it is relevant to your role
Access to several flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
Family care benefits including a back‑up care service for when your usual care arrangements fall through (six paid days each year as standard with the option to purchase further days)
Access to a number of apps which support health, fitness and wellbeing.
More Information The closing date for this vacancy is 3rd July. However, we encourage candidates to submit their applications as early as possible and not to wait until the published closing date. National Grid’s recruitment periods can and may vary. We reserve the right to remove this advert or close it to further applications at any point during the recruitment process.

As such, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship now or in the future under the UK points‑based immigration system. However, in exceptional circumstances where there is a clear and demonstrable need for specialist skills that cannot be sourced from the local labour market, National Grid may consider offering sponsorship. All applications are welcome from candidates who meet these requirements, regardless of race, nationality, or ethnic origin.
