About

Job Description Summary Leads day‑to‑day network operations and a team of network engineers/technicians. Responsible for operational excellence across enterprise network services (data center, campus/office, wireless, cloud connectivity, perimeter/security platforms, and circuits), ensuring reliable service delivery through strong incident, change, and problem management.
Responsibilities
Supervise and develop a team of network engineers/technicians: hiring support, onboarding, coaching, performance feedback, training plans, and workload prioritization.
Serve as a hands‑on network engineer as needed for complex troubleshooting, implementation, and operational support across data center, WAN/Internet, cloud connectivity, wireless, load balancing, firewalls, and circuits.

Oversee planning and coordination of network changes: risk assessment, change documentation, stakeholder communications, implementation oversight, and post‑change validation.
Drive problem management and continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, leading root‑cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to improve availability and reduce MTTR.
Maintain accurate network documentation (diagrams, runbooks, standard configurations) and ensure operational readiness for new services and deployments.
Coordinate with peer IT teams (security, server/platform, service desk, application teams) and external providers to deliver solutions and resolve cross‑domain incidents.
Support vendor engagement for incidents and service requests; track deliverables and ensure service quality for managed circuits and provider services.
Provide input to forecasting and budgeting (hardware, software, support contracts) and support purchase/renewal processes per policy; this role does not have budget ownership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Five+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering/operations (LAN/WAN, routing/switching, wireless, firewalls, load balancers, and circuit/provider management)
1+ years of experience leading others (people leadership or strong technical lead experience), including work planning, coaching, and coordinating on‑call/operational coverage
Demonstrated experience with change control and operational processes (incident, problem, and change management), including clear communications and documentation
Strong troubleshooting skills across multi‑vendor environments and the ability to lead technical resolution during high‑severity incidents
Preferred Qualifications
Strong customer focus; clear communicator who can translate technical issues into impact, status, and next steps for both technical and non‑technical audiences
Hands‑on experience with cloud/hybrid networking concepts (e.g., connectivity, segmentation, remote access) and network monitoring/observability tools
Working Conditions
Office environment
On‑call or after‑hours support during incidents or planned maintenance windows
Occasional travel
Domestic and international travel may be required as necessary
