27 days ago Requisition ID: 1021
Salary Range: $110,000.00 To $120,000.00 Annually
Company Overview At Enseo, we’re redefining what hospitality technology can be.
We provide the technology for modern hospitality — helping hotels across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico deliver personalized digital guest experiences while simplifying operations behind the scenes. Our solutions enable hotel teams to improve guest satisfaction, operate more efficiently, and create new revenue opportunities.
From in-room entertainment and reliable connectivity to guest engagement and property-wide insights, Enseo’s platform supports some of the most recognized hotel brands in the industry. Our technology powers more than 84 million guest experiences each year across more than 330,000 rooms.
Position Overview The Sales Engineer, In-Room Entertainment is the technical bridge between Enseo’s IRE platform and its hospitality clients across the full spectrum of property infrastructure. Most hotels still operate on legacy RF/coax distribution, while newer and renovated properties run multicast IPTV over IP networks; both are equally common in the installed base. This role owns the full in-room entertainment ecosystem from the headend through the guest room screen, covering streaming platforms, content delivery, casting, interactive TV applications, multicast IPTV distribution, hospitality TV control and configuration, and the coaxial plant infrastructure that serves a large share of properties today. Working alongside the sales team, this individual assesses existing property infrastructure, designs the right mix of RF, IP, or hybrid solutions, and translates complex technical capabilities into compelling business outcomes for hotel operators, ownership groups, and brand stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Technical Sales & Solution Design
Serve as the primary technical resource for IRE opportunities spanning streaming integrations, casting solutions, multicast IPTV, VOD, interactive guest-facing applications, hospitality TV control and configuration, and RF/coax plant infrastructure
Design and propose customized IRE solutions appropriate to the property’s existing infrastructure, brand standards, budget, and operator ROI goals; recommend pure IP, hybrid RF/IP, or RF-upgrade approaches as conditions warrant
Assess existing RF/coax plants including headend topology, signal levels, QAM modulation, amplifier and splitter cascades, and set-top box ecosystems to determine fit for service expansion or replacement
Deliver compelling technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept walkthroughs, and platform showcases tailored to hotel decision-makers
Develop and present ROI models showing how IRE features (upsell content, advertising, loyalty integrations) drive ancillary revenue per occupied room
Assist in the preparation of sales proposals, RFP responses, statements of work, and contracts
Partner with sales executives to qualify IRE opportunities and identify key business drivers for each property or brand
Conduct on-site assessments and technical discovery covering AV infrastructure, RF/coax plant condition, headend equipment, IDF/MDF buildouts, PMS/POS integrations, and existing in-room hardware
Perform RF signal validation activities at the headend and representative guest rooms including signal level readings, channel plan verification, and identification of plant deficiencies
Build trusted advisor relationships with IT directors, hotel GMs, revenue managers, and ownership groups by translating technical capabilities into guest experience and financial outcomes
Support customer onboarding, training, and post-deployment reviews to ensure adoption, satisfaction, and expansion opportunities
Platform & Ecosystem Expertise
Maintain deep working knowledge of Enseo’s IRE platform including content aggregation, platform UI/UX, casting, DRM, advertising tools, and analytics dashboards
Maintain working knowledge of multicast IPTV delivery including UDP multicast, IGMP snooping/querier, multicast-aware switching, and end-to-end stream validation
Maintain working knowledge of RF/coax distribution including signal levels, channel mapping, signal tilt and balance, and headend equipment from major manufacturers
Maintain working knowledge of hospitality TV control and configuration including commercial display protocols, channel lineup management, cloning workflows, and brand-required guest UI behavior
Stay current on streaming platform policies, hospitality content licensing, commercial encryption standards (Pro:Idiom and equivalent), device ecosystems (smart TVs, set-top boxes), and guest entertainment trends
Act as a liaison to external vendors across the IRE ecosystem (streaming platforms, TV manufacturers, headend equipment vendors, middleware providers) to resolve integration challenges and expand solution capabilities
Collaborate with the product and architecture teams to surface customer requirements that inform the IRE technology roadmap
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work in close alignment with the HSIA and RF Sales Engineering teams to ensure IRE, network, and RF distribution are designed as a cohesive, integrated guest experience
Coordinate with Installations & Delivery on site-specific requirements and pre-install validation, particularly where existing plant condition affects scope or labor estimates
Contribute to internal enablement by developing technical collateral, battle cards, competitive analyses, and sales playbooks for the IRE product suite
Participate in industry events, brand conferences, and trade shows as an IRE subject matter expert
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of multicast IPTV delivery including UDP multicast, IGMP snooping and querier behavior, VLAN segmentation, and multicast-aware network design
Strong understanding of RF/coax plant design and operation including QAM modulation, signal levels (dBmV), tilt and balance, splitter and tap cascades, amplifiers, and end-of-line performance
Strong understanding of hospitality TV control and configuration including commercial display protocols, channel mapping, cloning, firmware management, and brand-required guest UI behavior
Working knowledge of commercial content encryption (Pro:Idiom) and how it affects display compatibility and channel lineup decisions
Strong understanding of streaming platforms (SVOD, AVOD, FAST), content licensing models, and DRM requirements in commercial/hospitality environments
Working knowledge of hotel technology stacks including PMS integrations, set-top box and smart TV ecosystems, casting protocols (Chromecast, AirPlay, Miracast)
Understanding of network infrastructure requirements that support reliable IP-based IRE delivery (bandwidth planning, VLAN segmentation, multicast, QoS)

Hands-on experience with multicast IPTV delivery including IGMP behavior, multicast routing, and network-level troubleshooting
Familiarity with hospitality operations, revenue management, and guest experience strategy
Preferred Qualifications
Background in cable MSO, hospitality RF distribution, or commercial AV with direct RF/coax responsibility
SCTE certifications (BPI, BTS, or equivalent) or vendor certifications in RF distribution and headend equipment
Hands-on experience with signal analyzers, sweep equipment, and field test instrumentation
Hands-on experience with streaming platform partner programs or commercial content licensing agreements
Background in hotel revenue strategy, digital advertising, or loyalty program integrations
