About the Team: Our mechanical engineering team is agile and has grown rapidly, and we are looking for a talented mechanical designer to join us in the San Francisco Bay Area, or on‑site at our Salem facility. We are responsible for delivering advanced and reliable designs that meet a complex set of requirements to our customers, including software developers, applications engineers, manufacturing engineers and ultimately to fleet deployment managers. We work as a group to develop new technologies, engineer new products, and refine/maintain existing designs. The team is composed of engineers from many backgrounds and levels of experience.
About the Role: We are currently designing the next generation of Digit for commercial scale. Highly reliable and robust designs are critical to successful deployment of our robots in large quantities. Digit works in demanding environments, performing highly repetitive and heavily loaded tasks. The mechanical designer will work closely with mechanical engineers and play a key role in ensuring that we have well documented robot designs that are production‑ready.
This role is based either in Salem, OR or in the San Francisco Bay Area.
About the work:
Creo CAD model and drafting creation and management to Agility standards
Sourcing OTS component models and integrating them in the assembly
Updating CAD based on engineering analysis inputs
Detail drafting of parts and assemblies
CAD Library management
CAD template management
CAD data management in Windchill
BOM creation and management
Submission and herding of Promotion Requests
Identification of OTS components that meet engineering specifications
Product design in support of engineering requirements
Support cross‑functional design reviews through production of quality CAD screenshots, renderings, and creation of presentation slides
About you:
Expert in Creo, including top down modeling, drafting, and library management
Expert in Windchill, promotion requests, file management, BOM management
Fluent in the application of GD&T to mechanical parts and assemblies
Expert knowledge in several of the following manufacturing processes: sheet metal, machining, casting, injection molding
Bonus: Altuim CoDesigner experience
5+ years of mechanical designer experience
Ability to be on‑site at Agility’s design facility as needed (minimum 4 days per month and as needed to support design activities, reviews, prototype testing, etc.)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with tolerance analysis
Windchill PDM Administration experience
Jira/Confluence experience
A.S. Electro/Mechanical Design Drafting
Anticipated Base Salary Range $106,000 – $138,000 USD
