Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Manager to lead equipment and jig design projects while actively contributing to hands‑on design work. This role emphasizes technical expertise over team management and is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical design experience, particularly in custom machinery and equipment for automotive‑related clients. Fluency in both Japanese and English is required.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design projects for custom automated equipment and jigs using 3D CAD (I-CAD)
Create 2D manufacturing drawings based on completed 3D models
Design pneumatic systems including circuits with air cylinders
Serve as the technical point of contact for customer specifications and requirements
Collaborate with electrical engineering and controls teams for integrated system solutions
Location Madison, AL
Salary / Benefits 80k-90k

Qualifications Required:
Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in mechanical design for automated equipment
Native‑level Japanese and business‑level or higher English proficiency
Preferred:
Experience using 3D CAD (any software)
Experience in equipment or jig design for automotive manufacturing
Bachelor’s degree or technical school diploma in mechanical engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD
Experience with 6-axis articulated robots (e.g., FANUC, Yaskawa)
Knowledge of welding systems and related equipment
