The role of a Systems Administrator involves overseeing the maintenance and operation of computer systems within the organization. This position requires ensuring the efficiency and security of the network infrastructure and resolving technical issues as they arise.
The systems administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's IT needs while complying with Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
Install and maintain security systems to protect company data and networks from unauthorized access or breaches.
Evaluate and modify system performance, plan and implement enhancements to system software, hardware, and infrastructure.
Provide technical support and guidance to users on day-to-day system-related issues and ensure efficient resolution of all problems.
Create and maintain documentation related to system configuration, mapping systems, and network layouts.
Manage system backups and perform data recovery operations as needed.
Collaborate with team members and IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives.
Conduct regular audits to ensure system compliance with internal and external security standards and regulations.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends to provide recommendations for continuous improvement of systems and network infrastructure.
Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Intune or other MDM platforms.
Familiarity with Office 365 and Azure AD.
Understanding of CMMC or other compliance frameworks.
Previous experience with Jira or other IT ticketing systems.
Exposure to firewall or Unifi/Ubiquiti systems.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate various machines and equipment, including computers, office equipment, telephones, etc. Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work. Tasks may require extended periods at a keyboard or workstation. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
