Systems Administrator Location: Cincinnati, OH / Franklin, OH Job Type: Full-Time Work Environment: Onsite / Multi-Site Manufacturing Environment Compensation: $85,000–$105,000, depending on experience About the Opportunity A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a Systems Administrato r to support and manage IT infrastructure across two local facilities in the Cincinnati and Franklin, Ohio area. This role is ideal for a hands‑on IT professional who enjoys owning a broad technical environment, supporting users directly, managing Windows servers and networks, and helping keep critical manufacturing operations running smoothly. The position will support local site operations while also collaborating with the broader corporate IT team on company-wide initiatives, upgrades, and infrastructure projects. What You’ll Be Doing The Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting local manufacturing networks, servers, desktops, laptops, end-user systems, and business-critical applications. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user access, supporting backups, deploying updates, and helping maintain a secure and reliable IT environment. This is a highly visible role that requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical users, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and support local networks across multiple manufacturing sites. Install, configure, administer, and optimize Windows servers, desktops, laptops, and related systems. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and end‑user support issues. Provide technical support and helpdesk assistance to local users. Administer servers, operating systems, and associated software. Manage local area networks, intranet systems, internet applications, email services, and connectivity solutions. Install and configure printers, networking equipment, switches, routers, and related hardware. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly system backups. Administer end‑user accounts, permissions, access rights, and related security controls. Recommend, schedule, and perform hardware and software upgrades, repairs, improvements, and purchases. Review, test, and deploy service packs, hotfixes, system updates, and vendor patches. Evaluate and recommend hardware products for procurement. Collaborate with broader IT team members on company-wide issues, upgrades, and initiatives. Research Windows‑related issues and evaluate new technologies or products as needed. What We’re Looking For College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. 5+ years of equivalent hands‑on IT systems administration experience will also be considered. Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, desktop, laptop, server, and network issues. Strong experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers and Windows‑based networks. Experience with Active Directory setup, migration, implementation, and administration. Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems. Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, firewall management, network protocols, and general networking fundamentals. Experience configuring and managing switches and routers. Experience installing and configuring printer systems and end‑user devices. Knowledge of common Windows PC software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and standard web browsers. Experience with VoIP setup and configuration preferred. Ability to explain technical concepts in a business‑friendly, user‑friendlyway. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. Highly self‑motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Nice to Have Experience with Zscaler, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, or Horizon3. Experience supporting SolidWorks and/or Enterprise PDM. Experience supporting IT systems in a manufacturing, engineering, defense, or industrial environment. Ideal Candidate Background The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of systems administration, networking, endpoint support, and infrastructure experience. Candidates coming from manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or multi‑site environments should be a strong fit. Additional Requirements This position may require access to export‑controlled technical data or technology subject to ITAR or EAR regulations.
