Description
Position Purpose and Objectives
At Texans Credit Union, great data powers exceptional member experiences. We're looking for a
Data Engineer
to build and optimize scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality, and enable reliable, data-driven decision-making across the organization.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by strengthening our data foundation and turning complex data into actionable insights.
Major Duties and Essential Functions
Embrace the core values of Texans Credit Union: excellence, people, integrity, and collaboration. Design, develop, and maintain
enterprise DataMarts
that transform complex, disparate data sources into structured, business-ready datasets. Apply advanced
SQL expertise
to build, optimize, and manage data transformations, aggregations, and logic supporting reporting and analytics. Develop and maintain scalable
data pipelines
to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient data processing across systems. Translate business requirements into
well-defined data models , ensuring consistency, usability, and alignment with enterprise data standards. Ensure
data quality, integrity, and governance
across the data lifecycle, including validation, reconciliation, and documentation of business logic. Optimize data models and queries for
performance, scalability, and maintainability
in analytics environments. Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design
reusable, high-value data assets
that support reporting and advanced analytics. Drive
data design thinking , creating standardized, scalable structures that enable consistent KPI definitions and reporting accuracy. Support the development of dashboards and analytical solutions by delivering
clean, reliable, and well-modeled
datasets . Identify opportunities to improve data architecture, reduce redundancy, and enhance data accessibility across the organization. Communicate data structures, definitions, and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and business ethics standards. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent certifications.
Experience
:
Minimum one to three years of similar or related experience.
