Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

The Maintenance Planner/scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution. This role requires a strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards, work planning processes, procurement practices, and contractor coordination. The position plays a critical role in optimizing resource utilization, ensuring equipment readiness, and supporting seamless collaboration between operations, maintenance, and project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Champion safety as the top priority in all planning and scheduling activities
  • Participate in planning sessions with core and cross-functional work teams
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate routine maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with planners and stakeholders to develop schedules, cost estimates, and equipment plans, particularly for turnaround events
  • Develop detailed job plans, including labor, materials, tools, and timelines
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure equipment readiness, permitting, and execution alignment
  • Identify and manage critical and sub-critical path activities for maintenance and turnaround events
  • Monitor schedules and proactively resolve issues such as resource constraints, negative float, and out-of-sequence tasks
  • Support procurement and contracting strategies; ensure alignment with project execution plans
  • Plan and track Field Order Changes (FCOs) and adjust schedules accordingly
  • Apply planning and scheduling logic, including milestones, dependencies, leads, and lags
  • Provide guidance to field execution teams on look-ahead schedules to ensure timely work progression
  • Assess risks and contingencies and coordinate mitigation actions across teams
  • Maintain accurate data and ensure compliance with business processes and controls
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (relevant discipline), OR equivalent professional experience
  • Previous experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or a closely related role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Experience with planning and scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of maintenance workflows, planning processes, and resource coordination
  • Must meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, etc.
