Position Overview We are seeking an Embedded Electronic Controls Systems Engineer to join a 6–10 person development team, fully on-site in Mossville, IL. In this role, you will work as part of a cross-functional engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test robust, scalable features on embedded electronic control systems for automation and autonomy machine applications. You will bridge customer and commercial needs through system-level architecture, requirements development, and integration across hardware, software, sensors, and control systems. Work takes place in a combination of office and proving ground environments.
Key Contributions & Responsibilities
Translate customer and commercial requirements into system-level requirements; decompose high-level automation and autonomy features into functional requirements with clear traceability and documentation.
Define system architecture, interfaces, and integration strategy across machine subsystems; collaborate on design approach and trade-off analysis.
Develop features integrating across hardware, software, sensors, and control systems.
Create and track FMEAs; perform issue resolution through triage and troubleshooting.
Lead cross-functional coordination with machine systems, software, digital teams, validation, and product support; track schedule, deliverables, and technical risk.
Present design concepts, design reviews, and results to the team and stakeholders.
Team Structure & Work Environment
You will work within a 6–10 person development team, collaborating daily with machine systems, software, digital, validation, and product support teams.
Work environment is a combination of office and proving grounds. This is a fully on-site role in Mossville, IL — remote work is not available for this position.
Candidate Requirements Education & Experience 5 years of relevant engineering development experience required; 3 years accepted with a Master’s degree. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field required. A four-year degree is required.

Experience developing and tracking system-level requirements with clear traceability.
Strong understanding of integrating sensors, compute hardware, and software across embedded systems, including trade‑off analysis.
Proven issue resolution skills through structured triage and troubleshooting.
Required Technical Skills
Familiarity with software development processes.
Experience reading and understanding prints for components and wiring harnesses.
Desired Technical Skills
Experience in robotics, remote control, or autonomy applications.
Experience with datalinks (CAN, Ethernet, etc.) and associated tools such as CANape or Wireshark.
Experience with Azure DevOps for requirements management, work tracking, or project coordination.
Experience with software development tools such as Git, debuggers, and compilers.
Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
Experience with perception and positioning sensor configuration and calibration.
Experience with FMEA processes and basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes.
Experience developing systems for mobile, earthmoving, agricultural, industrial, or off‑highway applications.
