Location & Schedule Primary City/State: Virtual – Arizona. Category: IT Systems Administration. Shift: Day, Monday – Friday, 8am‑5pm. Hybrid work model. Must reside in Arizona. Job Overview This role requires an experienced leader to oversee EMR training strategy and delivery across a large, complex healthcare environment. Prior leadership experience in EMR training is preferred, with a strong preference for Epic experience. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead teams through high‑volume implementations, system optimizations, and organizational change while maintaining a focus on end‑user adoption and customer support. The role involves partnering with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders, and scaling training programs to support both ambulatory and acute settings. Strong communication, organizational, and change leadership skills are essential. Responsibilities Empower the community through continuous development, deployment, integration, and support of vendor‑proprietary enterprise application software. Manage application teams that support software necessary to run clinical, financial, or business systems within a large integrated health system. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee department daily operations, including the management, maintenance, upgrade, and enhancement of enterprise systems to meet performance and availability standards. Allocate team resources for monitoring existing systems and implementing new solutions. Partner with customer stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize a large volume of work requests, manage resources to achieve team deliverables and goals. Assist with the development and management of operating and capital budgets for the department. Handle human‑resource procedures, including justification for new positions, filling vacancies, corrective action, and staff advancement. Ensure staff have the skills and training necessary to perform their roles, provide leadership and guidance, and assist with growth and development. Essential Functions & Staffing Development Effectively manage resources and serve as the primary point of accountability for meeting team goals and customer requirements. Translate organizational goals into actionable assignments for team members. Prioritize a large volume of work requests, adjust to changing needs, and appropriately escalates risks. Lead complex technical and workflow root‑cause analysis, project implementations, and external workgroups; develop and present action plans to stakeholders. Proactively monitor all systems to ensure proper maintenance and support; intervene as needed. Objectively evaluate and recommend new opportunities identified by stakeholders. Partner with the Director to establish and manage the team budget; practice good stewardship of resources. Contribute to the development and execution of IT department strategy, policies, procedures, and KPIs. Keep up to date with industry trends through networking, self‑development courses, discussion boards, and webinars. Lead, coach, and mentor department personnel; communicate job expectations and provide actionable feedback. Supervise work quality and compliance with established standards and guidelines. Hold team members accountable to high work expectations and compliance with job description and operating procedures. Use best practices to interview and hire top talent; provide a solid onboarding experience. Provide professional and technical training opportunities that support job performance and advancement. Stakeholder Relationships Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills across all levels of the organization. Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the organization. Collaborate with customer stakeholders to determine optimal solutions for business needs. Evaluate how emerging technology solutions and methodologies affect current and future business practices. Research opportunities to leverage technology in the business. Establish relationships with vendor account managers; discuss support agreements and opportunities to optimize system use. Facilitate, coordinate, and prepare recommendations and presentations for key stakeholder review or approval. Ensure application training strategies for end users are effective and efficient. Willing and able to travel to any/all affiliated sites. Perform other duties as assigned and comply with company policies and procedures. Education Bachelor’s in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field – required. Master’s in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field – required. Experience At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience. At least 5 years of healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience with advanced understanding of workflow processes for systems necessary to run healthcare business, clinical, or financial functions. 3–8 years of advanced leadership or supervisory experience in similar environments. Licensing & Certifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required. Other relevant training or certifications in ITIL, PMP, CPHIMS, or similar methodologies preferred.
