The Village Vet at Sterling Ridge is a compassionate and client-focused veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality medical care for pets. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Veterinary Technician Assistant to support our veterinary team in delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining a clean, efficient hospital environment.

Position Summary

The Veterinary Technician Assistant works closely with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to assist with patient care, animal handling, cleaning, and daily clinic operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about animal health and interested in growing within the veterinary field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments
  • Safely restrain and handle animals during procedures
  • Prepare exam rooms, surgical areas, and medical equipment
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, treatment areas, and hospital spaces
  • Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized patients
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs
  • Assist with laboratory sample collection and processing
  • Stock supplies and organize inventory
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients in person and over the phone
  • Support front desk and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with animals preferred, but not required
  • Interest in veterinary medicine and animal care
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically active environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and compassionate in stressful situations
  • Willingness to learn and follow clinic protocols and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, kennel, or pet daycare
  • Basic knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
  • Enrollment in or completion of a veterinary assistant or technician program is a plus
