About
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazon’s innovative web services, while the Firmware team drives system innovation in the servers used by all of Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3, CloudFront, and more.
We are looking for an Embedded Software Development engineer to build and own the server‑related firmware. In this role you will work with a world‑class team to create scalable solutions for real‑world data‑center infrastructure problems, building, validating, and supporting firmware across diverse technology domains from embedded software to large‑scale distributed systems.

Server Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) software development
Embedded system development
Scripting language development
Data Center Operation Support
Linux driver development
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
5+ years of embedded firmware development experience
Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large‑scale systems
Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Benefits The base salary range for this position is 193,300.00 to 261,500.00 USD annually.
