Position Description CGI is seeking a detail‑oriented and technically minded Technical Business Analyst to support the development and enhancement of mortgage servicing solutions within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, data teams, and Agile delivery teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA, Plano, TX, Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN or Columbia, SC. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities The Technical Business Analyst will focus on mortgage servicing processes, including escrow, loan defaults, delinquency reporting, investor reporting, and related operational workflows. The role requires someone who can understand complex business processes, document requirements, analyze data and system impacts, and support delivery teams working in AWS‑heavy environments.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable bridging business and technical conversations, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, supporting backlog refinement, participating in Agile ceremonies, and helping ensure that delivered solutions meet business, regulatory, data, and operational needs.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role 5+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, technical business analysis, mortgage servicing, financial services technology, or related delivery roles.
Strong understanding of mortgage servicing processes, with hands‑on knowledge of escrow, loan defaults, delinquency reporting, and investor reporting.
Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business, functional, and technical requirements.
Ability to translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documentation.
Experience working with Agile teams, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story grooming, and UAT support.
Comfortable working with technical teams in AWS‑heavy environments, including cloud‑based applications, data pipelines, APIs, and system integrations.
Ability to analyze current‑state and future‑state business processes and identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
Experience with data analysis, data mapping, reporting requirements, and working with structured data sets.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain business needs to technical teams and technical constraints to business stakeholders.
Experience supporting risk assessment, control design, compliance needs, and audit‑related documentation.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust across business, technology, operations, and delivery teams.
Ability to support testing activities, including test scenario review, defect triage, UAT coordination, and business validation.
Familiarity with financial services controls, mortgage servicing regulations, and operational reporting requirements.
Proficiency in creating clear internal and external communication materials, including requirements documents, process models, meeting notes, and decision logs.
Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Excel, SQL, or similar business analysis and delivery tools.
Desired Skillset Certified Business Analysis Professional, or similar business analysis certification.
Agile or Scrum certification.
AWS Cloud Practitioner or other foundational AWS certification.
Mortgage banking or financial services certification.
Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Other Information CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit‑based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $107,700.00 - $154,300.00.
