Desktop Support Technician

About
Location: Fully onsite in Madison, WI
Duration: 6+ Month Contract, Likely Extensions
Pay Rate Range: $15 - $18/HR
Responsibilities
Serve as the initial point of contact for end-user support needs
Provide basic installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of hardware and software
Troubleshoot and resolve (or escalate) issues related to data, connectivity, applications, and client/server processes
Support operational maintenance of technology systems to ensure compatibility and functionality
Assist staff with day-to-day tech challenges and new equipment setup
Help maintain internal knowledge base documentation
Provide one-on-one guidance to users on standard hardware, software, and business applications
Learn and support media-related workflows used by staff
Qualifications
Experience in a customer-facing role with strong active listening and empathetic support
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain basic technical concepts to non-technical users
Experience supporting modern computer hardware (desktops/laptops)
Experience with Windows 10/11 and macOS
Practical, logical troubleshooting skills for basic technical issues
Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and procedures
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and documentation accurately
