About

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to support the Connecticut Enterprise Data Warehouse (CT EDW) within the Enterprise Datawarehouse and Analytics group. This role involves working with large healthcare datasets and translating business requirements into scalable data solutions. The engineer will contribute to initiatives around data usage, governance, information management, privacy and security, analytics, visualization, and information modeling. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks. Build and optimize ETL processes using tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory. Work with relational databases including Oracle, Snowflake, and SQL Server. Develop stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL, or Snowflake SQL. Utilize source control systems like Azure DevOps, GitHub, or SVN. Process structured and unstructured data, including HL7 and FHIR formats. Analyze project requirements and create detailed ETL specifications. Troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability. Adapt to evolving technologies and changing business needs. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering with a focus on Data Warehousing. At least 3 years of experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks. 5+ years of ETL development experience using Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, or similar tools. Strong experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, and SQL Server. Proficiency in writing stored procedures in PL/SQL, T-SQL, or Snowflake SQL. Experience with source control systems (Azure DevOps, GitHub, SVN). Familiarity with HL7 and FHIR standards. Bachelor's or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, or Business. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience with batch or PowerShell scripting. 3+ years of Python scripting experience. Data modeling experience in a data warehouse environment. Familiarity with Spark and Azure Data Fabric. Experience designing and building APIs in Snowflake and ADF (e.g., REST, RPC). Background in State Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare applications.
