About

Job Summary The Applications Support Analyst leads a technology team through data analysis, interpretation, and immigration reporting for a growing international community with approximately 5,000 international students from more than 100 countries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepares detailed data analysis utilizing SAS Reporting and Sunapsis Reporting tools; organizes and presents immigration-based information, evaluates and responds to data requests, collaborates internally to improve accuracy of data entered and stored in the immigration applications, and monitors and communicates data issues to superiors. Collaborates with the Office of Information Technology to troubleshoot issues related to the Sunapsis application, server, and database; serves as liaison between application functional users and OIT teams, collaborating with administrative staff, vendors, and IT service providers. Performs continuous statistical analysis on application usage, trains and consults users on their interface with the Student Exchange Visitor Information System, and reviews technical specifications of future phases of SEVIS, Sunapsis, and upgrades office technologies to make related recommendations. Manages the Office of International Education Technology Team; reviews team progress on tasks, prioritizes, escalates issues and risks appropriately to resolve problems and reduce project risk. Maintains knowledge of standards and best practices for information systems, user documentation, project management, web management, and SEVIS compliance. Oversees the department website and provides support for content management; assesses current needs and future areas for improvement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information systems, statistics, or related discipline with 2 years of experience in data analysis and reporting. Experience in data analysis or data‐driven research. Equivalent mix of education and experience in similar roles may also be accepted. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with SAS Reporting and/or statistical analytics. Experience in higher education. Experience supporting large relational databases, designing websites, and managing international student records software. Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Working knowledge of Sunapsis and PeopleSoft records management system. Knowledge of F‑‐student regulations; experience with SEVIS and SEVIS batch processing. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to multi‐task, pay attention to detail, organize data, conduct research, and communicate technical details to users. Ability to work under pressure and deadlines. Ability to analyze the needs of the office and work collaboratively to design business processes that streamline and improve collection and integrity of student data. Ability to work independently. Ability to prepare and present reports to serve a variety of audiences at various levels of technical ability. Displays attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organization, teamwork, problem‐solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
