About the Team DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. As a fullstack engineer on the Foundry team at DD Labs, you will build and maintain web applications end‑to‑end – from React frontends to the backend services and APIs behind them. You work on our React + Node.js stack, collaborating with engineers across the stack to design and architect scalable solutions that support all product functionality and maximize business impact.

Quickly prototype and develop internal web applications to support new product use cases
Write robust, highly tested, well‑crafted code that you are proud of
Define architecture and tech stack across the frontend and backend for a new product area
Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs (REST/gRPC) that power internal tools and merchant‑facing products.
Brainstorm and develop innovative solutions to enable scaling our operations at various stages
Learn about and contribute to other adjacent disciplines (e.g., data analysis) when possible

B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
6+ years of industry experience
Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST, gRPC)
Strong foundations in vanilla JS, HTML5, CSS3
Deep understanding of REST principles and designing backend APIs
Experience designing and architecting web solutions while collaborating cross‑team with product and design
Experience with React/Redux or similar frameworks
Experience with Express and Node.js servers
Experience with relational databases – schema design, query optimization (PostgreSQL or similar)
Experience with documentation, unit and integration testing
Nice to Haves
Experience with Java/Kotlin
Contributor to open‑source projects
Compensation The starting pay will fall within the listed ranges and is determined based on job‑related factors including skills, experience, qualification, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized. In addition to base salary, the role includes opportunities for equity grants.
Level I4: $130,600‑$192,000 USD
Level I5: $159,800‑$235,000 USD
Level I6: $193,800‑$285,000 USD

For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
For hourly roles: vacation accrues at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (≈6.7 hours/month at 40‑hour weeks) and paid sick time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (≈5.8 hours/month at 40‑hour weeks).
