Associate Data Engineer
Hybrid Role
Compensation: $32-$35 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that drive actionable business insights and informed decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with source data application teams and product owners to deliver robust data migration and engineering solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure products and services—including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Databricks—as well as traditional data warehouse tools. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from design and cloud engineering (infrastructure, network, security, and administration) to data ingestion, modeling, testing, CICD pipelines, performance tuning, deployment, BI, alerting, and production support. The ideal candidate is a strong technical problem-solver who thrives in both collaborative and independent settings, adheres to coding standards and security guidelines, and is comfortable working in agile and DevOps environments. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide actionable business insights
Implement data migration and engineering solutions using Microsoft Azure products and services (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks) and traditional data warehouse tools
Manage all aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud engineering (infrastructure, network, security, administration), data ingestion, preparation, modeling, testing, CICD pipelines, performance tuning, deployment, BI, alerting, and production support
Develop technical solutions and collaborate within a team environment, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently
Participate as a member of a DevOps team with full product ownership and support responsibilities
Follow coding standards, best practices, and privacy and security guidelines to ensure high-quality, compliant solutions
Contribute as part of a multi-functional team with diverse technical and domain expertise
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
1+ years of experience building data solutions using agile and DevOps practices
1+ years of data analytics experience using SQL
1+ years of experience with cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure
Experience implementing data migration and engineering solutions with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, or similar tools
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark
Experience with software solution development using agile and DevOps practices
Expertise with cloud-based technology stacks for data management, ingestion, curation, and consumption layers
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
Familiarity with coding standards, best practices, and privacy/security guidelines
Azure Databricks Certification (preferred)
2+ years of software solution development using agile and DevOps practices (preferred)
2+ years of data analytics experience using SQL (preferred)
2+ years of experience with SQL, Python, and Spark (preferred)
