About

Overview The Database Administrator is responsible for database maintenance, performance tuning, and security for the Department of the Navy Office of Administration (DON OA) – Information Technology Division (ITD).
Responsibilities
Ensure information systems maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality, integrity, and review, evaluate, design, and implement new databases and data structures for new and existing applications.
Monitor and improve the performance of applications accessing databases.
Install, test, upgrade, decommission, and troubleshoot all database applications, tools, and services, including supporting software/tools for the enterprise.
Provide administration of all database servers and instances, in coordination with application owners, administrators, developers, etc., both internal and external to the organization.
Provide database query scripting support necessary for operation, testing, and troubleshooting.
Escalate to and assist vendors and external contractors with application or tool troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
Provide on-site and remote technical support for systems, applications, and tools administration and operations.
Fully document support tickets on reported issues.
Test alternative pathways to resolve an issue.
Configure, test, and provide ongoing management of server application or tool hardening, security best practices, and other requirements as specified by federal government procedures, practices, and guidelines.
Fully document, process, and close any security exceptions or waivers to the above, with the guidance of security, Systems Owners, and Authorizing Officials.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases and hold relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert).
Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $108,500 - $128,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
