Position Description: This position is responsible for managing software development/support teams for our client within their Public Sector development organization. We are looking for an experienced professional, accountable to deliver comprehensive support and quality development projects for multiple applications. This role is both management and hands-on, requiring the individual to bring deep technical and software expertise. In addition, you will need strong business acumen, an ability to define visionary, groundbreaking products and ability to lead diverse teams. This is an opportunity to work within a fast-moving environment in a large company to rapidly deliver support and services that will have an industry wide impact.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of developers onshore and offshore.
  • Lead developer candidate interviews and hiring decisions for both full time employees and contractors.
  • Assist employees in building and managing their development plans.
  • Remain abreast of industry software technology, software development and support techniques.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new cloud-based software solutions.
  • Ensure the best solution is designed and implemented on time in a fast-moving lean agile software development environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development & micro-service architecture patterns.
  • 5+ years of proven development / software engineering experience in an Enterprise environment.
  • Experience leading a team of software developers.
  • Track record of fast learning and adaption to the new technology and environment.
  • Should be proficient developing software using Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience building and integrating with billing systems.
  • Experience and expertise in the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong communication skills.
