About
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Current Wyoming Technologist license. Current R.T. (R) (CT) (ARRT). Bachelor's degree in relevant field is preferred. EXPERIENCE A minimum of one-year clinical experience (2 years is preferred). SKILLS
Must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff and public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner. Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people. Able to perform effectively in stressful situations. Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills. Effective computer and keyboarding skills. Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer software applications. The department of Radiology has a career pathway to help address growth potential for licensed technologists and is defined by the department Director. The growth potential pattern is as follows:
Tech I - ARRT in one modality (i.e., ARRT, R). Tech II - ARRT certified in two modalities (i.e., ARRT, R, CT). Tech III - ARRT certified in three modalities (i.e., ARRT, R, CT, M). Tech IV - ARRT certified in four modalities (i.e., ARRT, R, CT, M, MR). REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS BLS (AHA) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must maintain competency within his/her imaging modalities. Will perform computed tomography exams at a high level of quality/safety. Will perform clerical duties as necessary and directed by radiology leadership. Will participate in continuing education to maintain high quality services. Must review orders for complete information and exam appropriateness. Will schedule patients/exams as needed. Adheres to established departmental/organizational policies/procedures/protocols. Must participate in departmental QA/QC programs. Interacts with patients, providers, vendors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner. Able to address room set up for computed tomography exams. Verifies patients using two patient identifiers. Provides excellent customer service, explaining exam information to our patients in a clear manner. Safely transfers patients to and from department, bed, wheelchair, etc. Positions patients appropriately, ensuring patient comfort, modesty and safety. Selects proper imaging equipment, devices, technique utilizing safe radiation principles (ALARA / Image Gently/Wisely). Accurately critiques images and adjusts factors as deemed necessary to ensure consistently high image quality. Initiates peripheral/intravenous lines and discontinues as needed. Performs patient safety screening and assessment as needed. Completes exams and charges appropriately. Cleans and disinfects equipment accordingly. At times, can address departmental needs with little to no support. Rotates shifts and works holidays as required. Performs ancillary duties as requested by supervisor. Able to work well in situations of stress. Must be able/willing to take call as needed/required. Must be able/willing to learn other imaging modalities as needed. Must be willing and able to cover in other clinics throughout the CRH system. Able/willing to perform other duties as assigned. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Generally speaking, the department requires multi-modality technologists; therefore, the Radiologic Technologist will support other modalities as per skill sets and licensures/certifications actively held. Employees will sign additional job descriptions based on skill sets and license or certifications actively held. Attend department meetings, in-services and disaster drills.
