Our client has an opening for a Senior Data Engineer. As a Sr Data Engineer you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the core data platform that powers world-class entertainment experiences for a globally recognized leader in the Entertainment & Media industry. Based in Glendale, CA, and working onsite four days per week, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Python, AWS, Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, and Airflow to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines. Your work will directly impact the reliability, performance, and accuracy of data assets used across engineering, data science, analytics, and operations teams. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive innovation, enforce best practices, and ensure the platform meets stringent SLAs. This role is critical to enabling data-driven decision-making and supporting the company's mission to deliver exceptional digital experiences at scale. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain robust, high-performance data pipelines for the Core Data platform Develop and manage real-time streaming data pipelines using modern data processing frameworks Build and document APIs to expose data to downstream applications and services Optimize and scale data infrastructure using technologies including Airflow, Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Snowflake Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to define platform requirements and roadmap Establish and uphold internal and external standards for pipeline configuration, naming conventions, and data governance Ensure operational excellence, data quality, and platform reliability across all datasets and services Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues in production environments Requirements: 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering with a focus on large-scale data pipelines Proficiency in a major programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala Production-level experience with distributed processing systems like Apache Spark Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools, particularly Apache Airflow Experience with cloud-based or MPP data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery Strong experience in building and consuming APIs, including GraphQL Deep understanding of OLTP vs OLAP systems and their respective use cases Proven background in distributed data processing, data service software engineering, or advanced data modeling Locations: Los Angeles/Glendale area for 4 days/week onsite.
