About

As a Senior Database Administrator you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, securing, and repairing the organization’s database environment. At our client, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of DBA’s leveraging Oracle technologies such as Exadata, RAC, CDB/PDB, Transparent Data Encryption, SSL encryption in transit, Centrally Managed Users, OID, OEM, and both AWS and Oracle Cloud environments.
This environment is also evolving toward greater infrastructure automation and DevOps integration, utilizing tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, and GitLab to support deployment standardization, scripting, automation, and operational efficiency across database and cloud environments.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus 8+ years of hands‑on experience with Oracle RDBMS or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Broad technical expertise with deep technical knowledge in Oracle RDBMS 11.2, 12c, and 19c
Advanced level knowledge of General RDBMS, Database Statistics, Database Upgrades, and Data Guard
Solid working knowledge of RAC (Real Application Clusters), Exadata (X6–X9M), ASM, Grid Infrastructure, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle database compliance framework, and Oracle databases running on Unix/Linux environments (Solaris and RedHat/Oracle Linux)
Experience working in Unix shells and scripting environments using Bash, KornShell, and/or PowerShell
Exposure to infrastructure automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible
Familiarity with GitLab or similar version control/CI‑CD platforms for deployment management and operational workflows
Understanding of change management principles associated with new technology implementations and modernization initiatives
Understands and applies project management principles when leading and directing work
Maintains deep knowledge of database technology and its application across the enterprise
Participates in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems
Understands commands used to list nodes in a cluster, determine overall resource status, manage voting disks/OCR storage, SCAN listeners, and perform rolling patching in environments with JVM installed
Preferred Qualifications
Recent Oracle Certified Professional Certification
Experience supporting Oracle Databases in Oracle Cloud and/or AWS environments
Strong scripting and automation experience with Bash, PowerShell, KornShell, or Ansible
Experience supporting DevOps or Infrastructure‑as‑Code initiatives utilizing GitLab pipelines/workflows
Multi‑tenancy database architecture experience (CDB & PDB)
Job Responsibilities
Undertake complex database projects requiring specialized technical knowledge
Provide Oracle DBA expertise across enterprise modernization projects including Load Forecasting, GIS Convergence, OpenText Upgrade, and cloud migration initiatives
Support automation and operational efficiency efforts through scripting and tooling using Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, and GitLab
Make well‑thought‑out decisions on complex or ambiguous database issues
Provide technical database expertise and/or solution delivery support for maintaining performance, scalability, and reliability of database solutions
Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners to determine requirements in support of service levels and project commitments
Establish partner relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Build and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and assist in development analysis for business and IT clients
Participate in relevant IT Architecture Domain Groups to review and plan introduction of new database technologies and cloud solutions
Ensure appropriate implementation of technology across both production and development environments
Support infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives as the organization transitions legacy systems into more modern cloud‑based platforms
Establish and communicate common technical goals/direction for the team
