About
GliaCell is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a U.S. Government customer on a subcontract. The role will sustain critical mission‑related software and systems for a large government contract.
The Work
Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates microservices of a modernized operational system using cutting‑edge technologies.
Duties
Architect infrastructure leveraging AWS technologies and services.
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
Install, configure, and tune containerization technologies (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, Docker Compose, etc.).
Perform system analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolution.
Evaluate and recommend cloud infrastructure cost‑saving measures.
Decompose sprint priorities and generate tickets to align with internal team priorities.
Manage team tasking and sprint workloads, tracking ticket execution and driving technical direction.
Manage CI/CD pipelines (GitLab runners, Argo CD) to automate building, testing, and deployment.
Communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Key Requirements
Active or re‑instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (CI within last 7 years).
12+ years of professional experience or 10+ years with a related master’s degree.
Current CWIP (DoD 8140) certificate.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills
Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, Athena, Step Functions) using Terraform and auto‑scaling.
Understand AWS networking principles (VPCs, NATs, Internet Gateways).
Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.
Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate.
Location Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite full‑time). Requires work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Limited or no work from home.
Salary Range $200,000 to $280,000 annually. Sign‑on bonus eligible. Additional benefit packages vary.
