About
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
As a member of Kuiper MAC‑SW, you will deliver embedded firmware code running on ground networks, customer terminals, and satellites. You will design, develop, and test complete Kuiper‑MAC firmware, integrating and bringing up firmware components and drivers in a real‑time embedded environment.
Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key Responsibilities
Work in a cross‑functional environment to define multi‑dimensional performance requirements (e.g., MIPs, memory bandwidth).
Make performance and optimization trade‑offs to meet end‑to‑end use case requirements.
Build component and test use‑cases, debug code in the Kuiper embedded environment.
Profile and execute code on RTOS and/or bare‑metal embedded environments.
Contribute to defining services and functionalities delivered by firmware subsystems.
Define, document, test, and debug firmware‑hardware interfaces.
Apply software/firmware best practices (e.g., clean architecture, refactoring).
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary range for this position is listed above. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
