About the Role
As a member of Ascend's Data Strategy Team, the Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting strategic data initiatives that drive organizational insight and impact. This position will collaborate with other data and business functions across the organization to ensure data integrity and governance, develop tools and reports that drive decision-making, and partner with school-based and central teams to deliver solutions that strengthen organizational outcomes. The Data Analyst collaborates closely with the Director of Data Strategy and cross-functional partners to ensure data systems are accurate, actionable, and aligned with Ascend's mission.
Key Responsibilities
The Data Analyst will: Collaborate with school-based and network departments to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions. Create, document, and maintain internal policies, procedures, and technical guides to support consistent best practices. Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, surface insights, and support continuous improvement across schools and central teams. Build and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to school and network teams. Partner with the Director of Data Strategy to lead and support strategic data projects that inform key organizational decisions. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a tech or education setting. Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, joining datasets, and manipulating relational data. Advanced Google Sheets or Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
Compensation
The salary will range between $60,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with level of experience.
