Python Senior Developer - DevOps Durham, North Carolina Job Summary
The Senior Developer will be responsible for developing and implementing DevOps solutions using Python and GitHub. The primary objectives include enhancing automation, continuous integration, and deployment processes to support software development projects. Role will be for Cisco Security & Trust Organization (STO) / Information Security engineering functions with capabilities spanning security automation, DevSecOps, compliance platforms, secure API integrations, and scalable trust engineering / automation solutions using Python, cloud-native technologies, and secure software development practices. Key Responsibilities
Security Automation & Trust Engineering Design and develop scalable security automation solutions using Python and modern software engineering practices. Build internal trust and compliance platforms for audit management, evidence collection, certification tracking, and security governance. Automate workflows supporting regulatory/security compliance initiatives. Develop orchestration pipelines for vulnerability management, risk assessment, and remediation tracking. Secure Application Development Build and maintain secure web applications and APIs using Django, Django REST Framework, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Design secure RESTful APIs for internal security services, governance platforms, and enterprise integrations. Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, logging, and secure coding best practices aligned with OWASP standards. Support CI/CD and DevSecOps initiatives with automated testing, security scanning, and policy-as-code implementations. Skill Requirements
1. Strong understanding of devops solutions and best practices 2. Strong programming skills in python for automation and scripting tasks 3. Experience working with github for version control and collaboration 4. Solid understanding of ci/cd pipelines and tools 5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders 6. Good problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently 7. Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly Strong proficiency in Python software development. Experience with Django and Django REST Framework. Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and React. Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and external system integrations. Understanding of SQL, relational databases, and schema design principles. Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks. Knowledge of secure coding standards and application security best practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Compensation and Benefits
A candidate's pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
