*Employment Type:* Full time *Shift:* Rotating Shift *Description:* Position Title: Medical Technologist (multiple positions available) Name of Employer: Saint Alphonsus Health System, Inc. Job Location: 1055 N. Curtis Road, Boise, Idaho 83706 Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours Job Duties: Perform, record, and review scheduled QC (quality control). Take immediate corrective action when QC data is outside established limits. Verify specimen labeling, integrity, and suitability before performing testing. Accurately perform low, medium, and high complexity testing procedures according to established protocols and regulatory requirements. Report test results accurately and appropriately report critical test results to physician, nursing station, or physician office according to established protocol. Perform and record routine maintenance of equipment. Recognize and document poor instrument performance and take appropriate action independently. Monitor supply inventory and take appropriate action to ensure that needed supplies are readily available. Perform lab testing on human specimens in all areas of the lab, including hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, serology, molecular, microbiology, and transfusion medicine. Required Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a closely related field of study or foreign equivalent. Required License(s)/Certification(s): Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification.
