About

This position initiates, plans, executes, and finalizes the technology component implementations for all assigned projects within established budget and schedule constraints. Utilizing standard project management methodologies, the Project Manager manages the efforts of all team members (organizational resources and engaged third‑party vendors/consultants) to deliver technology components according to project scope and goals.
The appropriate level of methodology rigor and deliverables is based on the scope and complexity of technologies identified during project initiation and discovery. The Project Manager oversees relevant quality control activities and reports progress throughout the project lifecycle. In most situations, assigned technology implementations will be components associated with organizational construction capital programs and projects.
Job Responsibilities
Direct and manage project development and execution from initiation through closeout
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Define and document project technology scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes
Build, develop, and maintain business relationships critical to project success
Estimate and identify required resources and project participants
Negotiate with contractors and internal department managers for the acquisition of required personnel
Develop appropriately scaled project plans and communications documents using standard tools
Ensure project plans address all phases of the technology implementationlifecycle, including:
Design
Procurement
Installation
Build/configuration
Testing
Training
Go‑live
Project close
Create work breakdown structures including tasks, owners, milestones, and schedules
Facilitate and participate in routine project team meetings to manage requirements and expectations
Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, fostering accountability
Determine status reporting cadence and content, analyze results, and troubleshoot issues
Track and report project status against plans to stakeholders and senior management per communication plans
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path activities
Identify, resolve, or elevate project issues and conflicts as appropriate
Proactively manage scope and schedule changes
Conduct project post‑implementation reviews and develop recommendations reports
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and project management software
Thorough knowledge of formal project management methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
Seven or more years of project management experience
Experience implementing healthcare applications and technologies
PMP certification
Physical Demands
Occasional work outside normal business hours to meet project deadlines
Ability to sit for extended periods
Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and related devices
Ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
Role Specifics
Self‑starter with strong attention to detail
Prior Healthcare IT project management experience required
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Support technology infrastructure and telecommunications projects for new construction and renovation initiatives
Prepare detailed network configuration documentation to meetrouted‑edge requirements, including:
Jack IDs
Device specifications
As‑built drawings and patch panel schedules
Interpret architectural drawings (preferred)
Request IP addresses after collection of MAC addresses
Request and manage VPN access
Conduct IT closet surveys in collaboration with network specialists
Support and review wireless survey activities
Manage departmental relocations involving phone, computer, and device moves
Manage projects focused on device deployment rollouts, with oversight coordination involving clinical information systems
Collaborate on medical device and imaging modality installation and testing (preferred)
Additional Experience & Preferences
ServiceNow experience preferred
Local to Chicago preferred; remote with travel considered for the right candidate
Mid‑to senior‑level role
Hands‑on project manager capable of detailed verification (e.g., data jack labeling, room readiness for device deployment)
Healthcare experience strongly preferred
PMP certification a plus
