About
Responsibilities
Lead platform specific projects and initiatives on Satellite as well as Ground Systems as an Embedded SDE.
Apply multi-year experience in networking and/or consumer devices using embedded Linux, Yocto, and/or Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
Demonstrate experience in kernel programming and/or device drivers and/or working with peripheral devices. Work with Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C interfaces, and flash devices. ARM-based systems is desirable.
Understand manufacturing diagnostics related to the device journey from contract manufacturer through production phases (HVT, EVT, DVT, PVT) and device provisioning processes involved in manufacturing.
As a software development engineer, lead the design of embedded software used in Amazon Leo products, mentor a team of software engineers, and guide software designs from requirements gathering through mass production. Be flexible and responsive to high priority issues.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
3+ years of hands-on experience on networking and/or consumer devices using embedded Linux, Yocto, and/or RTOS
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
2+ years of experience in manufacturing diagnostics through production phases like HVT, EVT, DVT, PVT

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
