About
Responsible for helping our surgical patients through their inpatient stay, providing basic care needs, under the direction of a RN. Other general duties as needed by the Manager of the Pre-Op/PACU. Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories Patient Interviewing skills Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation

High School Graduate/GED Previous CNA experience Current Certified Nursing Assistant license Current CPR certification Safe operation of wheel chair and ability to assist patients Knowledgeable in how to take vital signs, provide personal care and ambulate patients Excellent communication skills. Good organization habits. Ability to work independently. Physical demands include walking and standing, opening doors, carrying packages, helping patients to safely enter a vehicle.
