Job Summary: Deliver top-quality healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role extends to performing Computed Tomography (CT) procedures, capturing detailed cross-sectional anatomical images. Essential Responsibilities:
Perform CT scans following approved protocols and radiologist instructions. Review patient clinical history to ensure accurate procedure documentation. Prepare and instruct patients to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety. Position and immobilize patients appropriately while prioritizing comfort. Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques. Manage physical and psychological patient needs during procedures. Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media or medications as prescribed. Operate and maintain CT equipment and related instruments. Evaluate image quality and adjust display parameters as needed. Initiate basic life support when necessary. Complete all required documentation and computer functions related to patient history and billing. Educate patients about tests and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and supply levels in assigned areas. Provide guidance to students and healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Stay knowledgeable about sterile supplies, 3D imaging workstations, and anatomical recognition. Manage imaging media release following authorization protocols. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency. Experienced radiographer with foundational knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures. Licensure and Certifications:
State certification as a radiologic technologist. Current R.T. (R) ARRT credential in good standing. Obtain or maintain R.T. (R) (CT) credential within two years of employment.
This position offers varied shifts and is located in a regional area of the Midwest United States.
