About
Perform CT procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the exam and documenting all relevant information for practitioner use. Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results, encourage cooperation, and reduce anxiety. Select appropriate exam protocols as directed by Radiologists and adhere to established CT policies and procedures. Position and immobilize patients as needed, prioritizing comfort and accurate imaging. Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others from unnecessary exposure. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques. Address patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures. Perform venipunctures and manage equipment for contrast administration and patient monitoring. Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media or medications as prescribed. Evaluate image quality and adjust display parameters accordingly. Initiate basic life support when necessary. Complete all required computer documentation, including patient histories and exam charges. Educate patients about tests and procedures to ensure understanding and comfort. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, restocking supplies as needed. Contribute to supply decisions and provide practical instruction to students or healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties. Support other departmental areas as required. Stay knowledgeable about sterile supplies and techniques used in CT procedures. Recognize anatomical structures using computer-generated imaging systems. Utilize 3D workstations for image reformatting and reconstruction. Manage imaging media release to authorized parties. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency. Experienced radiographer with a solid understanding of CT procedures and cross-sectional anatomy. Licensure and Certifications:
Certified by the relevant state authority. Registered Technologist (R.T. (R)) with ARRT or equivalent in good standing. Must hold or obtain CT credentials (R.T. (R) (CT)) within two years of employment.
This position operates on a 4th shift schedule within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States.
