Job Summary/Basic Function: The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the health and wellness of student-athletes by assisting with the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Working under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, this person will help coordinate day-to-day athletic training operations and ensure compliance with applicable policies and best practices in sports medicine. Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job: Assist in providing athletic training services for intercollegiate sports programs, including practice, competition, and rehabilitation coverage. Evaluate and treat injuries, design rehabilitation programs, and monitor progress in collaboration with team physicians and other healthcare providers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including injury reports, treatment logs, and rehabilitation plans. Support the development and implementation of injury prevention programs and education for student-athletes. Assist in managing inventory and maintenance of athletic training supplies and equipment. Travel with teams to away competitions as needed. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations. Participate in continuing education to stay current with advances in athletic training and sports medicine.
