About

Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and related procedures to produce detailed sectional anatomic images.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Conduct MRI procedures with precision, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the imaging protocol and is properly documented for licensed practitioners. 2. Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results, ease cooperation, and reduce anxiety. 3. Operate MRI equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate scanning parameters and protocols as directed by radiologists. 4. Position and immobilize patients comfortably to best capture the area of interest while applying magnet safety principles to protect patients and staff. 5. Assist licensed physicians during procedures and manage both physical and psychological patient needs throughout. 6. Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media safely as prescribed. 7. Evaluate image quality, adjust display parameters, and maintain accurate records. 8. Initiate basic life support when necessary and perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as needed. 9. Educate patients and their families about tests and procedures in a compassionate manner. 10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, report equipment issues, and contribute to supply management. 11. Provide practical training to students and healthcare professionals and participate in quality assessment initiatives.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. - Computer proficiency. - Experienced radiographer with knowledge to complete MRI procedures and ongoing education in cross-sectional anatomy.
Licensure and Certifications: - Must hold state certification and be an R.T.(R) ARRT in good standing. - ARRT certification as R.T.(MR) required at hire or within two years.
Work Environment: Night shift position with potential on-call duties to provide technical support outside regular hours. This role is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
