Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all hospital
Departments and the Medical Staff. JOB SUMMARY: Interview patients prior to provider seeing them and assist provider as needed. Schedule appointments with specialists/other facilities and ancillary departments as needed. Handle phone calls and patient requests timely. This position will provide quality improvement activities as necessary and or as directed. These activities may include data analysis, data collection, and quality improvement. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Previous clinical experience preferred but not required Education: Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing Req. Cert./ Current LPN licensure in the state where employed CPR Registration: certification JOB DUTIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Maintain composure when dealing with stressful situation involving a patient, or other customer. Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of job performance. Greet patients in a polite and courteous manner. Provides quality customer service indicating a genuine willingness to meet others' needs in a timely and thorough manner. Have a good working knowledge of Seneca Family Practice regulations and manual. Arrange for all laboratory test, x-rays, EKG's, echocardiograms, and other tests, as needed. Arrange for referrals to other physicians/specialists and relate said information to patient and physicians. Assist physician or midlevel provider during treatments, examinations, and procedures, i.e. suture removal, pelvic exam as needed. Contact specified pharmacy with information regarding needed prescriptions. Demonstrate compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain exam rooms before and after patients to ensure that area is clean. Obtain information from the patient and vital signs and document accurately as to the history of the present illness or health concerns. Accurate and thorough documentation. Perform special treatment/procedures, under the direction and written order of the physician, such as injections. Safely administer medications as ordered by the provider and maintain proper drug controls. ICD-9 codes - order entry. Attend monthly nursing meetings.
