About
Perform CT scans, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the procedure and documenting all relevant information. Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results while reducing anxiety. Select and follow appropriate exam protocols as directed by Radiologists and adhere to established CT policies. Position and immobilize patients comfortably to best capture the area of interest. Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques. Address both physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures. Perform venipunctures as needed and manage equipment for contrast administration and patient monitoring. Evaluate image quality and adjust display parameters accordingly. Initiate basic life support when necessary. Complete all necessary computer documentation including patient histories and exam charges. Educate patients about tests and procedures to ensure understanding and cooperation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, restocking supplies as needed. Provide guidance and instruction to students and other healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties. Support other departmental areas as required. Stay knowledgeable about sterile supplies, CT imaging techniques, and 3D workstation functions including image reformatting and reconstruction. Manage the release of imaging media to authorized parties. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency. Experienced radiographer with a solid understanding of CT procedures and cross-sectional anatomy. Licensure and Certifications:
Certified by the relevant state authority. Registered Technologist (R.T. (R)) with ARRT or equivalent in good standing. Must hold or obtain CT credential (R.T. (R) (CT)) within two years of employment.
Work Environment: Varied shifts with a scheduled 37.5 hours per week in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
