Overview Job Description Job Information Machine Learning (ML) Engineer Location: Reston, VA Remote available Clearance Level: TS/SCI US Citizenship: Required Job Classification: Regular, Full-Time Years of Experience: 5-7 Years Education Level: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields. Job Summary GITI is seeking an experienced Machine Learning (ML) Engineer to research, develop, architect, and integrate ML models and algorithms. Responsibilities include analyzing large datasets, performing data preprocessing and cleansing, ensuring data integrity, designing and developing ML models for tasks like detection of AI-generated imagery, and applying pattern recognition to uncover insights. The role requires critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to communicate research findings effectively. The candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external partners, bridge research and operations, and integrate advanced algorithms into operational workflows using NGA data and environments. Responsibilities Integrate advanced ML algorithms into operational workflows. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Analyze large datasets, perform data preprocessing and cleansing, and ensure data integrity. Design and develop ML models for tasks such as detection of AI-generated imagery and pattern recognition to uncover insights. Communicate research findings effectively and support bridging research and operations. Required Skills
3+ years of experience in machine learning / computer vision / data science Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) Experience with image and/or video data Ability to understand and implement research-level algorithms from technical papers Experience with model evaluation, validation, and performance analysis Familiarity with Linux-based environments and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Desired Skills
Experience with image forensics, deepfake detection, or GEOINT-related analytics Experience working with DoD / IC programs or classified environments Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and deployment pipelines Experience handling large-scale or multi-format datasets Knowledge of adversarial robustness, synthetic data generation, or explainable AI
