Job Overview Capitol Services is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in AI‑powered testing tools. The position is located in Austin, TX and requires eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. C2C is not considered. This is a permanent, full‑time, direct hire role, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, mobile, and backend systems using modern frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium)
Use AI‑assisted testing tools to generate test cases, analyze defects, enhance exploratory testing, and identify risk areas
Validate AI/ML‑driven features including data quality, model drift, bias, and output reliability
Implement and monitor CI/CD quality gates including automated regression, static analysis, security scanning, and performance checks
Perform API‑first and contract testing for microservices and distributed systems
Conduct performance, load, and chaos testing to validate system resilience and scalability
Use observability platforms (logs, metrics, traces) to diagnose issues and validate system behavior
Develop, modify, and execute comprehensive test plans and test strategies
Oversee software acceptance testing and coordinate with cross‑functional teams
Analyze test results, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
Document and maintain software functionality, requirements, and specifications
Tailor and deploy testing tools, automation frameworks, and quality metrics
Serve as a subject‑matter expert for internal and external software, including training delivery in partnership with Learning & Development
Ensure compliance with project plans, security standards, and industry best practices
Communicate effectively and professionally with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Qualifications
Requirements: Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and reside in Austin, TX. C2C will not be considered.
Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, test automation, and continuous testing. 3+ years of experience managing quality assurance processes and leading quality assurance initiatives.
Preferred: Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI). Experience testing n‑tier web applications, APIs, and cloud‑based systems. Experience with test‑driven development, shift‑left testing, and DevOps collaboration. Ability to evaluate and validate AI‑generated output for accuracy and reliability.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills: Ability to multi‑task and prioritize projects. Exceptional attention to detail and reasonable sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
Excellent communication skills: Verbal and written communication in a professional and friendly manner with coworkers and stakeholders.
Adaptable: Eager to use new tools, automation frameworks, and AI technologies. Able to adapt to changing priorities while working in a fast‑paced, iterative environment. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Coachable: Ability to retain and implement instruction and training. Open to learning and navigating current processes and systems. Comfortable asking questions.

Reliable: Able to work during regular business hours in the Austin office. Punctual, follows assigned work schedule, and maintains client confidentiality at all times.
Office environment: Ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Hybrid schedule acceptable; 100% remote work not eligible.
