Your role and responsibilities As a Solution Architect for Business Automation, you will act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical post‑sales advice and guidance. You will design architectural and technical solutions to meet customer needs.
Partner with IBM Expert Labs sellers and account teams to develop winning technical solutions and service proposals for IBM technology engagements, ensuring the proposed solution is differentiated, deliverable, and commercially competitive.
Lead the creation of high‑quality client‑facing deliverables during the sales cycle, including solution architectures, effort estimations (SOW‑level), delivery roadmaps, risk/mitigation strategies, TCO/ROI models, and compelling presentation materials that clearly articulate IBM's value proposition and win themes.
Act as the primary technical trusted advisor to clients and prospects in pre‑sales situations; lead discovery workshops, present solution visions, and demonstrate IBM Service capabilities.
Respond to RFIs/RFPs, shape client requirements, contribute to proposal strategy and content, and collaborate with service pricing and contracts.
Post‑contract award, lead the solution blueprinting and design phase: translate won scope into detailed target architectures, define technical blueprints, security controls, integration patterns, capacity plans, and migration strategies.
Maintain deep and current expertise across the IBM technology and services portfolio and understand interoperability and consumption models to maximize IBM ecosystem leverage.
Act as the technical bridge between clients, IBM account teams, global delivery centers, and ecosystem partners throughout the pursuit and delivery lifecycle.
Collaborate with customers, understanding their business needs and providing tailored technical solutions to address their challenges.
Qualifications Required education: Bachelor's Degree. Preferred education: Master's Degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience in solution architecture or related technical roles, designing, integrating, and delivering enterprise‑scale solutions.
Customer‑facing and cross‑team leadership experience.
Expertise in IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Business Automation platforms, with ability to provide architectural advice that aligns with customer business goals.
Successful delivery of technical solutions with client adoption.
Strong customer‑facing skills and ability to act as trusted advisor.
