Description
Conduct evaluations for individuals across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations employing standardized assessments alongside observational strategies. Create personalized treatment strategies that focus on immediate objectives while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions concentrating on various aspects like communication, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing. Engage in collaborative planning with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive care strategies. Empower both patients and their families with education that reinforces progress outside the clinical settings. Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions while maintaining continuity of care throughout their healing journey. Maintain meticulous and timely documentation that complies with state regulations, federal laws, and institutional policies. Stay informed on advancements in therapy practices through ongoing education and peer partnerships. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Massachusetts. Preferably hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches applicable to diverse age groups, alongside a profound understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication capabilities allowing for effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Flexibility in adapting therapy practices to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving skills.
